Favourite Poems & Quotes #3

I love Leonard Cohen's poetry and music, so when I saw his quote it occurred to me, that when you come out of a dark forest, the light is very strong and what is more life-affirming than the wind in a kite held by an excited child.

I wish you a fantastic day

Favourite Poems & Quotes #2

This is my Journal 15#10

Fantastic how it looks great with all the journalspreads on Pinterest.

My quote reminds me that I need to see all the things that are hiding,
even if I'm busy.

This morning it was the most enchanting weather, I hope that you have just
such a day - hugs Susan

#08 Make and Use a Masterboard

Real fine examples the DT have made.

I have used Tim Holtz distress spray stain and water on my Masterboard which is A4 format.
My little box is 6x11 cm, and there has been a mini brie in it.
There is stamped with graphic 45 cling stamps # 8 and # 11

The remains of the Masterboard

I wish you a very good day
Hugs Susan

Favourite Poems & quotes

I have started a new journal in A5 size. The pages are distressed with coffee, I will use them as a base and glue/paste the different objects on.
The only disadvantage is that when the pages are wet they smell of coffee ;-).

I have a book of quotes that I love and it gives a lot of inspiration.

I think that my quote is good because it reminds me that I must
continue to renew myself.

Have a great springtime
Hugs Susan

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2015 - april

Hello all good readers, it is so long time since I've been creative here on my blog.
I have experimented with coffee on watercolor paper and drawing, in a new journal.

So I am completely stressed, because I want to make Tim's April tag ...
It's really a great tag Tim has made, and it is a beautiful flower stamp, which I have not, so I had to make a flower alternative ...

Tim Holtz #8 kraft tag, watercolor paper, colorcore cardstock
psychedelic grunge stamp
thinlits love, stencil traveler
distress marker wild honey, shabby shutters, crushed olive, ripe persimmon, festive berries, dusty concord, squeezed lemonade
distress ink frayed burlap, vintage photo, broken china
archival ink jet black
alcohol ink rasperry
crinkle ribbon, mirrored star, waterbrush

Great hugs and have a nice day
Susan

Raise the Curtains!

I find it difficult to destroy old things, especially old books, so I have never tried these projects before, but once gotta be the first, and as I said - it's recycling *LOL.

A long time ago I bought several old books, that I would use for art journals. This fit very well to Raise the curtains challenge on SASPC because it had reptile on the cover. Sand, sawdust and lots of dangerous animals, it is real circus!

The front has been given Acrylic Silks.

The inside is distressed and I have kept the paper itself which I think was sufficiently yellowed.

On the opposite page, I used Tim's stencil and Prismacolor after I had cut the audience and the curtains.

The bearded lady, and dangerous animals have always fascinated me. So when I as a gift received a stamp with a bear head, I had to make a combination. I have glued and cut many times to get the right depth.

TA DA - Ladies and gentleman - honorable audience - as sprechstallmeister I'm presenting the flying artist Ann...

and our Greatest Circus Act, The BearWoman ...

I have used the Oxford Impressions, Hero Art, Panduro and Andy Skinner stamps
Tim Holtz embossing folder, stamps, remnants rubs, distress stain, spray stain and ink. Brads, gears, gesso, old book 19,5x13,5 cm, punch and Sizzix Garden Fairy.

I hope you have been inspired by my circus journal, come and play with us on Raise the curtains challenge on SASPC and we look forward to see your project.
Hugs Susan
