Orchid

In my windowsill in the kitchen, I have this orchid, and it is the first time it has succeeded for me to get an orchid to bloom.

Winter Stamping Journal 15#4

Here in Denmark the Winter is not really started, it is probably the warmest for many years. And it is many years since I've been out to be skiing on the few hills we have here *LOL. But to imagine real snowy weather is not hard, when the birds are freezing and sitting alone out in the trees. Visit Simon Say Stamp Monday Challenge DT to see great examples of what winter is.

I have used Golden gesso, paste and a lot of blue acrylic color on my journal page. Tim's stencils dot fade and speckles are used with paste and white color. I am very fond of Dina Wakley's bird stamp. The little bird is stamped with Archival ink jet black, painted with brown colors, then put on a branch which I provided with layering stencil festive in order to give the branch a little life. The beautiful snowflakes are from RetroKraft Shop, which I've painted white and used lots of Distress glitter.

Thank you for visiting my blog in the gray January darkness.

Inky Background Journal 15#3

Wow this is a really good challenge Anna-Karin has at SSSMC and it fits great for my journal 13x21 so I've had lots of fun with inky hands. I love nature and all its amazing expression. Thank you for the beautiful and lovely inspiration from DT.

First I put gesso on and when it was dry, the sides got very much distress spray stain, mustard seed, crushed olive and shabby shutters. A long time ago I have made some fantasy shape with my glue gun, which I have used along with Tim Holtz layering stencils stripes and dot fade.

The stamps are from Dina Wakley, Crafty Individuals and 7Dots Studio which was stamped with Archival Ink Jet. All the edges are distressed with black soot, crushed olive and pan pastel.

I wish you all a good day playing with ink.
Hugs
Susan

Journal 15#2

It's too long since I've done anything with stencils, paint and scraps. Now I really have a great desire to work in a Moleskine journal 13x21, I have glued the pages together in pairs so I got really heavy pages that can withstand all kinds of mixed media. I started with my Happy New Year page, as the first in my book. I miss the light and clear blue sky, warm colors and that's what I think of this page.

There are used Stencils from CraftersWorkShop and Dina Wakley, an old book page, wrapping paper and Forever Green from Prima, colors from Golden, Panpastel and Distress Ink.

Thanks for visiting and I hope that you may have a nice day.
Hugs Susan

Triptych Wallhanger

WOW 2015 and the first steampunk challenge. I've really had a good time and been messy with color, paste and crackle on this triptych wallhanger. I'm looking forward to a new year, and it has always been really talented players who show their imaginative ideas, so I hope you all have the desire and time to make steampunk in 2015 on SASPC

I started to cut 3 pieces of corrugated cardboard in ATC size. They got crackle-paste and lots of acrylic colors. I have distressed on the edges with ink and black acrylic color. My gears are from Retro Kraft shop, and I think that they just fit in size. Finally I've used TH Cargo Stencil, Texturefades and Crowded Attic paper. Prima ruler, eyelets, silver cardboard, mini brush and steel wire.

When I put it on the wall it looks like this.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and I wish you Happy New Year.
Hugs Susan
