Fifty Shades of RED - *Art*Journal*Journey*

Linda K from heARTfully has as a guest on Art Journal Journey blog chosen this theme. It's almost Valentine and the White Rabbit thinks of everything that is red, love, hearts and roses.

Valentine - PaperArtsy Topic #2 Masks

The video from Stampin'Up "two minute technique" is a great way for a beginner and I use it often. Thanks to PaperArtsy for displaying different videos that I can learn from.

I stamped with gray ink, drawed the bird band where I should have my hearts to hang. After I had stamped on my masking tape, I cut out the motives and placed them. I distressed my tag and then used my stencil. The motives were colorized and the hearts got 3D pads and were put on.

I have used: Studio 490 stamp set scs140
Distress ink fra Ranger, broken china, twisted citron, wilted violet, tumbled glass and lucky clover
Archival ink watering can and carnation red
Tim Holtz thinlits shape strips and stencil mini set 21
12# tag watercolor and black paper and masking tape from tesa
Glitter pen, silk ribbon and water brush

Jeg wish you a crafty and nice day.
Hugs, Susan

Everything Art - Wanderlust 2017 course week #3

In course week #3 the theme is "Wilna's Art - three ways". The tutorial is by Wilna Furstenberg. Her flowers are very delicate and reminds me of porcelain we have here in Denmark. I have created several examples of these flowers and it was difficult, I was too cautious and made very small flowers which was almost impossible to color, so I went up in size, I ended up with this journal page. As you know, practice makes perfect.

Have a crafty and a nice day.

Everything Art - Wanderlust 2017 Course week #2

This weeks theme in the Wanderlust course is "Making Magic" and I was very inspired by Mary Wancerin and her canvas here in week #2 of the course. I used my art journal, and this is my result. I used the techniques shown by Mary Wancerin and ended up with lots of layers of colour and different layers of scraps.
I tried out with lots of bright colours to really challenge my self and my comfort zone which usually is more darker colours.

Have a crafty day.
Hugs, Susan.

New challenge on SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges "New Stash/Forgotten Stash

So it's February and time for a new steampunk challenge and I have chosen both subjects "New Stash / Forgotten Stash.
It's amazing what I have left in my stash, the heart and this stamp is new but the wings and gears are bought for a long time ago, they are not forgotten but I take good care of them he he

I have sanded the heart with sandpaper and then given it black gesso.

I've used a saved packaging cardboard from a toy, it has been given paste, crackle paste and white and turquoise color paint, and it got crackle glaze. Finally I rubbed white color in the glaze.
The stamp is printed on the tissue paper and the wings are embossed and got paint and crackle glaze.

The stamped silk paper I tear close to the workpiece and glue it on the heart.

I have used:
DecoArt media Crackle Paste, Crackle Glaze and Black Gesso
DecoArt media Fluid Acrylics Translucent White, Titan Buff, Gobalt Teal Hue, Quinacridone Gold and Paynes Grey.
DecoArt Metallic Lustre Brilliant Turquoise
Americana Decou-page Matte

I have also used stencil, die, embossing folder, rust color, gear, wire and stamp from Studio 490.

I look forward to see what you're doing for the challenge on SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges. And stay creative, and have a good day.
Hugs, Susan
