Vintage -*Art *Journal *Journey* - November 2018

A new challenge on AAJ, which is being hosted by Erika from  BioArtGal
I chose to make a "raggedy" as vintage and Nik the Booksmith has inspired me.
It's scrap that has been on my desk for a long time.

And Erika found a wonderful theme.

I have written on my flower card:
"The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all."

(It's a quote and I can not remember who has said it.)

My raggedy will live in my 22x22 cm dylusion journal as a lovely reminder of freedom to attend *Art*Journal*Journey.

I wish everyone a really good November month.
Hugs, Susan

"Creature Comforts" - *ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY - OKTOBER 2018

Linda from heARTfullyinspiredby Linda is the host on *AJJ* and the theme is "Creature Comforts"
Thank you Linda for the inspiration.

I immediately came to think of our vacation, at the North Sea,
where there were lots of insects.
One night I managed to get 20 mosquito bites and I'm pretty bothered and my advice is to rub with raw onions, it helps on my mosquito bite and yet I miss that lovely summer.

A little greeting from the North Sea where the fishing boats are pulled up on the beach.

I wish you a creative weekend and the month of October with lots of inspiration.
Hugs, Susan

Survivoring Halloween ...

October is Halloween, and different artists have good examples of what meaning it is for them.
I feel scared in the dark ...

Here is the beginning of a poem by Robert Graves

THE SURVIVOR COMES HOME

Despair and doubt in the blood:
Autumn, a smell rotten-sweet:
What stirs in the drenching wood?
What drags at my heart, my feet?
What stirs in the wood?

Once in a blasted wood,
A shrieking fevered waste,
We jeered at Death where he stood:
I jeered, I too had a taste
Of Death in the wood.

 Here's what I've used:
DecoArt Media Gesso White, Black and Paste
Andy Skinner/Tando Creative stencil Skullduggery
Andy Skinner/DecoArt stencil Incoqnito

Archival ink, art journal, fabric with rust, gaze, cardboard, quote chips,
charcoal and watercolor

Forgive if I'm too serious.
One of my favorite writers is Robert Graves and his poem fits my feelings
on this journal page.

I wish you a creative month and come join us

A mini box with three small stories...

Dear readers our September challenge on SanDee&amelie's Steampunk is started
and here's my little story ...

This little story begins with the box
was found under an excavation where a new metro station will be built.

Three records were discovered ...

Which is about the old laboratory which once stood in the middle of the city.

The journals have a fine marbled cover.

I have used:

DecoArt media Black and White gesso
Texture sand paste, Crackle paint and Matte medium
DecoArt media Fluid Acrylics Cadmium Orange Hue, Cobalt Teal Hue and Quinacridone Gold
Andy Skinner stamp ASCSA5018

(I had this small metal box of 6.0 x 3.5 cm that needed rust makeover.)
Tim Holz stamps, paper pad, distress ink, Archival ink, gear from Amazon and NeoColor ll

(I have made the marblering with the colors and a spartel that I have drawn along the paper.)

Picture of first lady who stands for everything in the old laboratory...

(Here the colors are placed on the stamps with Neocolor ll.)

I hope you forgive me for the long post and if you have reached that far, I wish you would like to play with us on SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges.
