Thanks for all the many good years 

This is my last blog post on SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges, I have been involved for many years as DT and it started in 2014 where I was welcomed by Claudia. It has been exciting to see all the many great suggestions that have come from everyone who has participated, and the blog could not have existed without your interest!

SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges

I started with 2 pcs. 12" tags that I put together for a little acordian book.

For the coloring I used my brayer. When it was dry I added new layers of stamps and stencil.

I have used: DecoArt media fluid acrylics, Raw Umber, Titan Buff,

Paynes Grey and Sap Green

I have also used: Gelliplate, Silk ribbon, 12" tags, Stamps and Diecut from Tim Holtz

Snailmail-May/June

This snailmail I have placed in my trusted journal. I always work in my journals both in purchased and homemade journals and I am always happy to smear in here and I can always try new methods that I try because I am incredibly curious. Lol

As you can see I have used my collage fodder from the last post, sewed the colored papers on the sewing machine into the journal. My steampunk man (chipboard) from Boozybear is decorated with black and stamped in white.

I have written in the journal a bit about the journey the letter is going on, and it is with great expectation where the letter is going to.

I have used: DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics

Cobalt Teal Hue, Yellow Green Light, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Cerulean Blue, Dioxazine Purple, Titan Buff, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, English Red Oxide.

DecoArt Media Black Gesso and Matte Medium

Also used: Gelliplate, Japan Paper, stamps, Black Pen, Chipboard from Boozybear, chipboard from a pile, Rubons, Charcoal and sewing machine

The stamp here is 4.5 x 3.0 cm, where I again used small pieces of paper to make my little collage.

Here is my chipboard man from Boozybear painted with black gesso and the stamped with Titan Buff.

Collage Fodder - Gelliprint - Clip Holder

I had a great desire to make a small holder with scraps that you could use for a small mini journal and it came to look like this. I found my gelli plate and used lots of color and papers. It was Japanese paper and copy paper that I am really happy with, it lies so nicely on the surface when it is glued on.

I have used: DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics

Cobalt Teal Hue, Yellow Green Light, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Cerulean Blue, Dioxazine Purple, Titan Buff, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, English Red Oxide.

DecoArt Media Black Gesso and Matte Medium

Also used: Gelli plate, Japan paper, copy paper, black iron wire, gears in cardboard.

I bent a needle into iron wire to hold my small scraps. The scraps were stapled to a slightly thicker piece of cardboard and I decorated the needle with a paper bead.

I found the 2 screws on the street with lots of rust, and help to keep the thin papers in place.

New Beginnings 2021

Remember it is a two month challenge!

I reflect on what we have all experienced in this year 2020 here on the last day of the year with the hope that 2021 will be much better. We can all help to do a lot but unfortunately there are things we do not have an influence on. Therefore, I came to think of keys and what I use them for: unlock and close, they can also illustrate the five senses, to see, hear, feel, taste and smell.

These keys are an illustration of two people's love ups and downs and

all the decades that one has lived together.

My words for 2021 are: curiosity, listening, optimism, intuition and thinking ahead.

My background is an old tin can found on the road where it has been run over by cars where it has been lying in all kinds of weather and got this lovely patina of rust.
