Something Wicked

Happy Halloween, something is wicked.
Here in Denmark, we have taken Halloween to us and the kids love to dress up.
Here are my suggestions...
I am very fond of the little owl and I think that it is both creepy and funny.
The owl fit very good for this challenge.

I have used Tim Holtz Distress ink spiced marmalade, wilted violet, ground espresso, twisted citron, vintage photo and black soot. Carved halloween stamp, layering stencils batground and zigzag. Tag & bookplates and festive greenerry die. Remnant rubs curiosities. Archival ink jet black. Boneyard.
Brusho orange, lemon, purple, black and leafgreen. Silk ribbons, flowers and button.

Continued good Halloween night
Hugs, Susan

Paper Artsy Topic 20: Triptych

All displayed triptychs on Paper Artsy's Challenge are beautiful both old and new.

Leandra from Paper Artsy and her video tutorial is great and that inspired me to this triptych.

I found a piece of cardboard to my triptych and I used my brayer and rubber bands wrapped around a wood block to make patterns. The colors are tone in tone and is from DecoArt Fluid Acrylic, Yellow, Yellow Oxide and the dark color is Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide. On the blue pages are used a stencil with birch trees and the color is DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic Brilliant blue.
The strong women is From the Past stamp of Dina Wakley.
To appease my colors I have used Titan Buff.

First I made the whole page with black gesso, when it was dry I used a stencil I have cut and used Dylusions color Crushed grape as background. Titan Buff very dilute is used as snow. Below on the bottom is washi tape.

Thanks for visiting my blog and may you have a good day.
Hugs, Susan

PaperArtsy 2015 Topic 19: Faces Challenge

I was inspired by Darcy Wilkinson's beautiful portrait of Steve Garrigan.
The black and white and the slightly diffuse gave just the puff that I did this drawing in my journal from Moleskine with black paper where I have used PanPastel and stencil for numbers and feathers.

Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope you liked my post

Art Journalling With Tim

It is a very long time since I've been on A Vintage Journey Blog, and DT have put up some amazing examples.

In my "coffee-Journal" (which still smells of coffee) I have created a page on cardboard as cover with TH stencil Flourish and Burlap with paste, I have painted with acrylic color, gesso, and blue. Various scraps from the pile and an old measuring tape found at a flea market. Scripture is from Handwritten Love die, with clear embossing powder, the picture is from Photo Booth and the small papers are from ephemera pack Expedition.

I wish you all a good day.
Hugs, Susan

Top Hats and Moustaches - SanDee&amelie's Steampunk October challenge

October is equal to Halloween
All crafters are starting to show beautiful creations one after another. It is contagious, I also had to create a piece of holloween - with top hat and moustache.

On my #12 tag I first used gesso and in the wet gesso, I have little bits of paper that the gesso acts as glue. When it is dry, I sprayed with Dylusions Fresh lime and London blue and rubbed it well into the ground. Then I stamped with Archival ink jet black and Watering Can to form different layers. Inktense Blocks, I used to make some of the colors a little deeper. Distress ink spiced marmalade, vintage photo, black soot and black embossing powder, I used to the edges and the background for the text. To highlight and give depth, I used drawing coal.

Stamps used: Andy Skinner - 7gypsies - PaperArtsy - Indigo Blu - Dylusions - HeroArts.

PaperArtsy Pigment Powders Challenges

Thank you for a wonderful tour on your blog viewing the various pigments. It was very inspiring, I had to try it, and I ordered Brusho immediately. I have a few different watercolors, but none of pigment powder, so I was very curious to know how to work with these pigments.

My Brusho arrived and I tried them straight away, here are my tests.

They are amazing and I have to practise * LOL.

In my background, I have used Rubber Dance Stamps Collage  Mix
On the edges Distress ink Vintage Photo

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a wonderful weekend.

Art Journal Journey - Through My Window #3

I think it would be great to wake up to sunshine and a whole field of flowers - right outside my bedroom window. Instead I use the large parks in the city and enjoying the many flowers and perennials that they get to grow there, so it is an advantage in many ways.

I've had fun with Dylusions acrylic colors, a charcoal  and black tush.

Thank you for your visit and I wish you a nice day.

Art Journal Journey - Through My Window

It is a good challenge that the ladies at the Art Journal Journey September challenge, "through my window" came with.
I have long wanted to use my PanPastel, and now came the opportunity to illustrate the tree outside my window. I had already prepared a page with gesso and sprayed with a various of Tim Holtz colors. I think that it came to look neat, and I hope you too like my journal page.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you will have a good weekend.

SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenge 2015 september - "Tag it!"

Have you seen the new September challenge on SASPC where you can choose from vintage, industrial and/or steampunk ?.

I think it would be exciting to try vintage with a twist ... I admire all the scrappers who make very beautiful vintage layout and boxes, etc.

To stick to two colors throughout vintage project is for me very hard, I love the colors - hmm, I'm really happy how it came to look like.
It is probably not shown on my photos how much glitter I have used. * LOL
I love Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, they are amazing.

I started to give my #8 tag gesso, when dry, I sprayed 3x each with Buccaneer bay blue and Tawny Turquoise from Lindy's, in between I dried with the heat gun to get the blue mica forward. Tim's lace stencil was used on top with black soot ink, it gave the femine look. Everything has got the three colors except for the gauze.
Sewing machine is a Sizzlits, and I have raised it with corrugated cardboard and foamtape. The small embroidered S has got perfect pearls pewter. Some of the edges got Inka gold hematith.
Silk ribbon is sprayed with Buccaneer bay blue, Tawny Turquoise and Tim's chipped sapphire spray. PaperArtsy stamp is stamped with archival ink jet black. The small text are from 7gypsies steampunk rubbings. Fra my stash come lace, gear and a small heirloom rose from Tim Holtz.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I look forward to see all your fantastic entries on SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenge "Tag it!"
Hugs, Susan

I think it would be exciting to participate whit my tag in "Gorgeous Texture" on the blog MMW
